Eduardo Pinto was born in Gabela, Angola in 1954. He moved to Rhodesia at age 20 to escape the civil war, then moved to Ponta Delgado in the Azores where he co-edited literary magazines and published several books in Portuguese. His books include Emersos Pestyjeyos, Emocao (Emotions) and The Goddess of Rain. His novels in Portuguese are (translated titles) The White Passage of Silence and The Late Hand. He lives in Coquitlam where he is writing a novel about his childhood in Angola.
