Werner Forman and Erna Siebert published a study of Aboriginal artifacts, some from Russian museums, in a German volume, that was later translated by Philippa Heniges as North American Indian Art: Masks, Amulets, Wood Carvings and Ceremonial Dress from the Northwest Coast (1967). Many of the artifacts are captured in coloured photographs. There is focus put on the Tlingit tribes and their work. With Norman Bancroft-Hunt, Forman also published People of the Totem: The Indians of the Pacific Northwest (1979).
