As a retired teacher in Abbotsford, David Funk self-published two historical novels via Amazon, first On the Banks of the Irtysh River (2013) and then The Last Train to Leningrad (2015). They concern family survival in Western Siberia during and after the Bolshevik Revolution and Stalin's subsequent brutal suppression of human rights. Both novels portray good people "who choose to become refugees because life as they know it has become impossible."
