Jim Garrard has taught theatre at Simon Fraser University. His play Cold Comfort (Talonbooks 1982) was staged at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre and became a feature film made by Northstar Entertainment. Born in Northern Ontario in 1939, he was founding Artistic Director of Theatre Passe Muraille and President of Rochdale College. He has also taught theatre at the University of Toronto, written extensively for film and television, and assumed the positions of Artistic Director for Salon Theatre Productions and Director of the Kingston Summer Festival.
