Born and raised in Burnaby, Larry Gillies has Bachelors degrees in Arts and Business Administration from SFU. He has worked as a family counsellor, auto insurance claims adjuster and has assisted in developing biological controls for greenhouse pests. He lives in Abbotsford with his wife, Sharon. As a sprinter on the SFU track team, Gillies travelled through California, and the haunting images of deserted gold-rush towns led him to write the thriller Wraiths (Commonwealth, 1996).

Wraiths (Commonwealth $7.99)
Info
Something Evil has been lying dormant for 150 years in Gully Gulch, a California gold-rush ghost town in Wraiths (Commonwealth $7.99) by Larry Gillies of Abbotsford.
The Gulch is deemed perfect for the set of an upcoming film, yet when the crew moves in, everyone falls prey to strange, insidious influences. Only Sylvia Pratt is unaffected and it's up to her to save the Gulch.
