Stalking Salmon and Wrestling Drunks: Confessions of a Charter Skipper (Harbour, 2016) is Peter Gordon's first memoir. The collection of stories recounts the highs and lows of fishing with tourists, including handling rowdy guests, bad weather, near death experiences and how the 'big one' got away.

Now retired, Peter Gordon ran his charter boat company, Magna Charters, out of Victoria from 1978 to 1989. He was born in Vietnam, educated in Europe and the United States, enjoyed a film career in Hollywood and finally settled on Vancouver Island. In addition to working as a charter boat skipper, he ran an equestrian center for many years.
