Since 1987, Brian Harris has used my award-winning photography and project management skills to raise funds and public profile for non-governmental organizations. This has been done through a wide range of strategies, projects and products. With all revenues going to Seva projects in India, Nepal and Guatemala, as well as several Tibetan relief charities, Brian Harris published a hardcover book and a calendar entitled Tibetan Voices: A Traditional Memoir (Pomegranate Publications, 1996). His work features 80 colour images of Himalayan Buddhist culture and 50 memoir-style accounts told by Tibetan elders describing their lives in Tibet when they were young.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Barrie Ontario in 1951, Brian began his lifelong pursuit and interest in photographing traditional cultures when he traveled to Mount Athos in Greece and then to Jerusalem at the age of 21. Subsequent Asian trips took him to Tibet on three occasions, Thailand, China, Korea, Sikkim, Nepal and four extended trips to India. From 1988 to 2006 Brian's photography raised funds and public profile for Seva Canada, an NGO that restores eye sight to the blind in Asia. Since 2007 Brian has focused his camera on small scale sustainable farming in British Columbia. The images, publications and projects support FarmFolkCityFolk Society.
