Born in Australia, John Harrison graduated from the Wagga Wagga Experimental Agricultural station before he emigrated to Canada at 22. For almost 50 years he identified and applied the methods of growing food organically on his 80-acre farm, Mylora, in the Fraser River delta. Although retired, Harrison continues to teach people about organic farming and gardening, and in 1993 published Growing Food Organically.
