Prompted by her love of competitive sport, Pat Harrison of Qualicum Beach self-published Once Upon A Locker Room: A Story of Empowerment (2005). "Each participant in the world of athletics should realize that success has been drastically miscued by the dream of greed," writes coach Lynne Wells as an endorsement. Like basketball coach Phil Jackson in Sacred Hoops, Harrison stresses the need for athletes to "connect with something larger than themselves." Having been inducted into the Canadian and United States Softball Halls of Fame, Harrison also produced Competing From The Heart: The Origin of Winning (2005), a coil-bound collection of aphorisms and inspirational advice about sports, illustrated by Tedd W. Tree.
