Teresa Hedley wrote What's Not Allowed? A Family Journey with Autism (Wintertickle Press $25.95) about her son Erik, from womb to emerging adult, and her family including two other siblings. The book offers an uplifting approach to mining the best version of each of us, autism or not. Teresa and her son Erik co-wrote a twenty-article series for Autism Ontario's Autism Matters magazine entitled, I Have Autism and I Need Your Help.
Teresa Hedley is a graduate of UBC (BEd). She also holds a master's degree in Curriculum Development and Training (University of Oklahoma) and a certification in special education (University of Ottawa). Additionally, Teresa has worked with families and school boards in Ottawa as an autism consultant and advocate. Teaching stints in Europe and Asia have shaped Teresa's perspective and inform her writing. Teresa lives in Comox with and her husband Frank and son, Erik.
