Born in Port Arthur in 1952, Tom Howe was educated in Montreal and moved to Vancouver in 1969. A descendent of C.D. Howe, he was encouraged to write by Al Purdy. His one 1979 poetry collection is Myself in the Rain, the first poetry collection published by Douglas & McIntyre. Howe has since formed one of the major film distribution companies in Canada and moved to Toronto to become head of CBC acquisitions.
