Raymond Huel of the Department of History of the University of Lethbridge edited the proceedings of a 1988 symposium on the history of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in western and northern Canada, including two articles on Honoré-Timothée Lampfrit (by Emilien Lamirande) and Father Léon Fouquet (by Thomas Lascelles), both of whom were involved in Vancouver Island missions that failed: Lempfrit at Fort Victoria and Cowichan (1849-1852) and Fouquet near Fort Rupert (1867-1874).
