Born in Vancouver in 1942, Robert Jarvis was widely-travelled before settling in Chilliwack. He helped found the B.C. Free Speech League and has published The Workingman's Revolt: The Vancouver Asiatic Exclusion Rally Of 1907 (Citizens for Foreign Aid Reform, 1991). He also wrote The Komagata Maru Incident: A Canadian Immigration Battle Revisited (Rexdale: C-Far).
