Paul Jones's memoir Out of the Rain (Hancock House, 2005) recalls his home life in the now-defunct paper mill town of Ocean Falls and his immersion in World War II, from 1939 to 1949. Jobs with the B.C. Power Commission and BC Hydro later took him all over the province. Born in the prairies, he lived in Vernon from 1958 onwards and retired in 1982.
