Born on December 10, 1956 in Montreal, Lyne Gareau of Vancouver and Saturna Island is a French instructor who came to Vancouver in 1980. Engaged in the artistic and Franco-Colombian community, Lyne Gareau sits on the Board of Directors of the Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver and has been part of the organizing committee for the "Salon du livre de Vancouver" (Vancouver French Book Fair). Her first novel, La Librairie des Insomniaques, tells the story of Alex, an urban hermit. A youth novel, Isalou, is planned for 2019 at Editions des Plaines. She is currently finishing a collection entitled Le chat Janus.
