Sophie McCall is an English professor at Simon Fraser University. First Person Plural: Aboriginal Storytelling and the Ethics of Collaborative Authorship (UBC Press, 2011) is her examination of 'told-to-narratives' - in which the writer is typically non-Aboriginal - in conjunction with political events that have shaped the struggle for Aboriginal rights.
In 2014, McCall edited Devil in Deerskins, a critical edition of My Life with Grey Owl, a 1970s autobiography by the Mohawk author, Anahareo.
