An associate professor of history at UBC, Tamara Myers is the author of Montreal's Modern Girls and the Law, 1869-1945 (University of Toronto Press), a look at Quebec's juvenile justice system and how it transformed modern girls into female delinquents.

In 2019, Myers published Youth Squad: Policing Children in the Twentieth Century about the dramatic change in the 1930s in crime prevention programs for children when youth squads were established from New York City to Montreal to Vancouver.
