During the Depression, Edward Patterson led his family across southern Alberta and British Columbia in a 1928 Chevrolet truck hitched to a team of horses, followed by 250 head of unbroken range horses and three covered wagons. His memoir of his journey was published by Doug Cox of Penticton.
