Kristene Perron of Nelson, B.C., won the Surrey International Writer's Conference Storytellers Award in 2010. She writes and self-publishes adventure science fiction. Her series, Warpworld, is co-authored with Texan writer Joshua Simpson. With 3,000 kilometers and two time zones separating them, they co-write in real time on a variety of internet platforms.

Perron embodies the "adventure"; aspect of her series. For ten years, she worked in Vancouver as a professional stunt performer (under the name Kristene Kenward) for film and television. She's also a black belt in Karate, a certified PADI Divemaster and an avid offshore angler; so there are resemblances to her main protagonist in the series, Amadahy Kalder.

Born in B.C., Perron has also lived in Japan, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Cook Islands. In 2013, she was dividing her time between Baja, Mexico, Ucluelet and Nelson.

Warpworld was awarded a BRAGG Medallion by Indie BRAGG. She's also had stories published in Canadian Storyteller Magazine, The Barbaric Yawp, and the Denizens of Darkness anthology.
