Sue Pielle is an elder and storyteller of the Sliammon people who joined with Anne Cameron to present a West Coast traditional tale called T'aal: The Woman Who Steals Bad Children (Harbour, 1998 $7.95). The subject goes around after sunset with a basket made of writhing snakes, snatching up children who have defied their elders. When a young brother and sister are unfairly nabbed, they must free themselves and other children who have been captured. Pielle has worked with the child development centre at Sliammon and in the Sliammon language and cultural programme at James Thomson School. 1-55017-180-1
