M. E. Powell (Marie Powell Mendenhall) is a Regina-based writer and journalist, with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. Scholastic Canada published her book Dragonflies are Amazing (Scholastic, 2007), and her poems and short stories appear in literary magazines and anthologies such as Room Magazine, Transition, Pandora's Collective, WindFire, and Close to Quitting Time. In 2012, she was first runner-up in the Lush fiction contest for her story Grid Lines.
