After her husband died in a crash of a light airplane, she took over the ranching operations. She retired to Lethbridge. Parts of her huge ranch were sold to Neil Harvie, a partner, and three years later an auction was held to sell equipment and animals. The new owner was Jim Stewart of Kelowna, who sold it to Dick Newsom who resold it to Roger and Harley Hook of Kamloops in 1975.
