History of Canadian Sikhs
In both Punjabi and English, the 400-page History of Canadian Sikhs by Sohan Sarinder Singh Sangha is published by the 53,000-strong, Vancouver-based Khalsa Diwan Society, founded in 1906 and now the oldest and largest Sikh group in North America. The Society opened its first temple on Second Avenue in Kitsilano in 1908 and moved to its present headquarters on southeast Marine Drive and Ross Street in 1970. (604-324-2010)
