Betty Schultze of Malaspina College, and grade one teacher Ulla Petersen, and Janine Reid, co-wrote What's Next for this Beginning Writer? (Pembroke 2005), a collection of mini-lessons that take writing from scribbles to script. Having worked as an early literacy mentor for the Vancouver School Board, as well as a teacher in Kindergarten through Grade 4, Schultze went on to write Basic Tools for Beginning Writers? (Pembroke 2008).
