Meguildo Zola was born in 1939. He and Melanie Zola are prolific children's authors with more than 15 titles since 1980. (Meguido is Hebrew for storyteller.) Most recently he wrote a humourous collection of Yiddish folk tales, Noodle, Nitwit, Numskull, set in medieval Poland. He has also written about Karen Kain, Wayne Gretzky, Terry Fox and Sharon, Lois & Bram. He teaches in the Education faculty at SFU. Melanie Zola's titles include Alligators, Peanut Butter is Forever and the co-written books on SL&B and Terry Fox. She organizes Young Writers Conferences. Both contributed to projects of Commcept Publishing, briefly a force in B.C. book publishing of educational materials.
