Born on Saltspring Island, he wrote a history of Rossland's Mines and a history of hydro electricity in southeastern British Columbia. Metalurgical mayhem, murder and political intrigue are all part of the history of West Kootenay Power and Cominco in the region. He teaches at Athabasca University.
