Born in Vancouver in 1944, Jon Furberg was closely associated with the origins of Pulp Press, publishing his poetry in 3 Cent Pulp - Vol. V, No. 1, 1 January 1979. 3 Cent Pulp was a vibrant periodical that appeared in Vancouver from from 1972 until 1980. Furberg later reworked the Anglo-Saxon poem 'The Wanderer' for Anhaga (Arsenal Editions, 1983), his third book of poetry. It was preceded by Jonas (Pulp Press, 1972) and Prepositions for Remembrance Day (Pulp Press, 1981). As an English instructor at Vancouver Community College he co-wrote College Style Sheet (Vancouver Community College Press, 1992; Bendall Books, 2000) for VCC Press with Richard Hopkins, a third edition that evolved from a one-page style sheet commenced in 1974 by Alan Dawe. Jon Furberg died in 1992.
