The Sisters of Saint Ann were the main nursing order of nuns in the province during the 19th century. Covering the 100 year-period from 1858 to 1958, Sister Mary Down wrote A Century of Service: A History of the Sisters of Saint Ann and Their Contribution to Education in British Columbia, the Yukon & Alaska (Victoria: The Sisters of Saint Ann, 1966).
