A longtime critic and devotee of Philippine cinema, Vancouver's Mel Tobias (604-736-1129) has produced One Hundred Acclaimed Tagalog Movies, an illustrated guide from Peanut Butter Publishing that celebrates the most trendsetting and extraordinary films from the Philippines. Tobias' other two film books are Flashback: Hong Kong Cinema after Bruce Lee and Memoirs of an Asian Moviegoer.
