In a similar vein Tell Me a Season (Clarion $?), a first book for Mary McKenna Siddals of Prince George, uses colour and the progression of time to describe the passing seasons. Mud brown spring morning gives way to green summer day; mellow fall afternoon leads to winter's shadow black night. McKenna, a former teacher, says she was inspired to write by her children when they were learning to read. McKenna's second book, Millions of Snowflakes, is due out next fall.
