G.W. Stephen Brodsky is a retired military college professor who was born in Brantford, Ontario on November 18, 1933 and grew up in Southern Ontario. He earned his BA from Queen's, MA from UVic, and PhD from York (UK). He served in the Canadian Army in conventional infantry and paratroop battalions, in NATO West Germany, and with the UN in Cyprus and Kashmir, retiring in the rank of Major in 1983. He taught English Literature at Royal Roads Military College, both in uniform and later as a civilian. As well as his own books and articles, he has edited and written introductions for other works of military history and literary criticism.
