Along with Molly Murphy, leads an all-women's natural building collective from coastal British Columbia. The collective published Mudgirls Manifesto: Handbuilt Homes, Handcrafted Lives (New Society 2018). It's the story of Murphy and Cipilinski teaching themselves how to build houses using mud - one of the most abundant materials on earth - in order to break free from a rigged economic and social system. Having families to support, they chose not to lobby governments and banks for support but to forge ahead instead, making their own rules as they went. To start with, their common practices included: have fun, share whatever was learned with whomever wanted to join in, learn by actually doing, and to gather skills and allies along the way. The Mudgirls revolution was born. Now the collective builds houses and offers workshops that empower people to take back the right to provide for themselves with shelter. The colle champions respect for the earth and each other.
