BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: Louise Miki Donnelly began writing April Fool's Day, 1987, with eventual sales of freelance articles to publications such as The Financial Post Moneywise Magazine, Canadian Airlines inflight magazine, Canadian, and many food-related trade journals. She developed the one-day workshop Magazine Writing From the Boonies and co-authored the how-to guide, Magazine Writing From the Boonies (Carleton University Press, 1992, 1996), which garnered a Quill & Quire starred review for a book of exceptional merit. She was a charter member and co-ordinator of the Interior Chapter of the Periodical Writers Association of Canada, and served on the board of Kalamalka Press (a volunteer press dedicated to the discovery and promotion on new Canadian poets) as director of publicity. Currently, she is a member of the steering committee of the Kalamalka Institute for Working Writers, a signature program of the Kalamalka campus of Okanagan University College. For many years she has been a regular contributor to B.C. BookWorld.
