Fenn Stewart's first poetry collection, Better Nature (Bookthug 2017) uses language from a diary that Walt Whitman wrote while travelling in Canada at the end of the nineteenth century, inlaid with found materials (early settler archives, news stories, email spam, etc.) to describe her unique view of this country.

Stewart teaches literature, writing and research in Vancouver. Her poetry has been published in Capilano Review, Open Letter, The Arcadia Project, and in chapbooks.
