Cheryl Tardif is a self-described bestselling author, based in Edmonton, who writes self-published pot-boiler mysteries set in Western Canada.

According to her own publicity materials, "Cheryl Kaye Tardif's novel Whale Song was launched under Kunati's UNA trade paperback imprint. Whale Song, an emotional mystery that explores the controversial issue of assisted suicide, has captured the attention of numerous film companies, including many from Hollywood. A screenplay, which Tardif wrote with co-writer Alison Neuman, was completed in 2006.

"In September 2005, Tardif's action-packed techno-thriller The River was released as a print-on-demand title (Trafford Publihsing). Tardif also the psychic suspense Divine Intervention (Trafford Publishing), a 'psi-fi' suspense thriller/paranormal romance. In 2006, Cheryl Kaye Tardif participated in a new TV series 'A Total Write-Off', hosted by comedian Barbara North. In 2004, Tardif was nominated for the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Award. In 2003, she wrote a public service announcement for a racial harmony campaign. Her PSA script, One Voice ~ One World, placed third and was produced and aired on cable channels in Alberta. She has been interviewed by numerous TV and radio stations in Canada and the US, and she has been featured in a variety of newspapers and magazines in both countries.

"As a teen, Tardif was a journalist with a weekly newspaper column. Years later, Tardif completed a course in Journalism and Short Story Writing and graduated with Highest Honors. She has worked as a motivational speaker for a respected international company, written material for a number of companies, and worked as a consultant in telemarketing, sales and promotion."

Whale Song, The River and Divine Intervention feature Vancouver as key locations. Vancouver Island is featured prominently in Whale Song.
