Born in Minneapolis in 1945, Victoria Walker arrived in B.C. in 1970 on her way back to Minnesota. She came for a vacation and never left Canada, attending University of Calgary to obtain a Masters of Fine Arts. She has published a number of chapbooks and a "box book" -- an experimental work called Vanishing Point from Egg Press in Calgary which comes in the form of a folded box that contains drawings, paintings and poems. Roy Miki published her miniature book, August, in 1991, and in 1989 Barry McKinnon of Prince George published her book Suitcase, which received the Livesay B.C. Poetry Prize.
