Gerhard Winkler was born in Berlin, Germany in 1928. He married his wife Charlotte in 1952 and migrated to B.C. in 1957. Together they raised five children in Canada, and say they never regretted leaving their country of birth.
Winkler belongs to two writers' groups and has numerous articles published in RV Magazines. Several of his short stories have received awards and were published in anthologies. With the assistance of a small writers group Winkler was able to publish his first novel, Divided (Rogue) in December of 2007.
